Mark Schaefer is a globally-recognized blogger, speaker, educator, consultant, and author who blogs at {grow} — one of the top marketing blogs of the world. As Executive Director of Schaefer Marketing Solutions, he specializes in marketing strategy and social media workshops. Mark gets candid about how to cut through the online “information density” by using humanity and heart. This author of five best-selling books (Social Media Explained, Return On Influence, Born to Blog, The Content Code, and The Tao of Twitter) reveals how marketing goes in phases: something gets hot, then it gets saturated, and then it moves to the next phase. Don’t get left behind!

On this episode of Breaking Digital, Doyle and Mark have a brilliant and honest discussion about what marketing actions need to take place within your business to survive. Forget about being an overnight YouTube success. Be real. Show who you are, mistakes and all. It makes for a better story. Mark refreshingly assures us that using a “humanity” filter in our branding is the way to our customers hearts. He pushes companies out of their comfort zone by encouraging them to share what they stand for, what they believe in, and essentially to reveal “their heart?” If your branding is failing it is likely bland, antiseptic, sterile, or formulaic. Bottom line: treat people online the same way you would treat them offline. The surprising twist: 2017 is going to be a milestone year with artificial intelligence at the forefront of marketing strategy. Can't get enough of Mark? He is the co-host of The Marketing Companion, one of the top 10 marketing podcasts on iTunes.

Mark is a popular and entertaining commentator and has appeared on many national television shows and periodicals including the Wall Street Journal, Wired, The New York Times, CNN, National Public Radio, CNBC, the BBC and the CBS NEWS. He is a regular contributing columnist to The Harvard Business Review.

Kelly Doody is a true, 21st Century Publisher who weaves incredible stories with amazing brand value to clients around the world through the successful use of social media.

Many entrepreneurs and businesses have brilliant ideas, but are not able to actually articulate this into an audience that works with you. Having an audience is critical to growing a business, otherwise business is really not what it can or should be.

In the agency world many companies simply push social content out there, in the hopes that some of it will "stick". Kelly & co. have learned the fundamentals on why this is not a good idea, and what you can be doing differently in social media.

Kelly is the cofounder of several media related businesses, including "The Post + Post", along with Canada's biggest and best marketing event - "The Post Forum". She has been breathing life into the digital footprints and social presence of start-ups to super brands since YouTube was a baby, Facebook was fledgling and MySpace ruled the pool. She is a journalist-turned-communications junkie, and prior to finding her dream partners and co-launching Press + Post, was the proud founder of Daily Ink Media & PR. Nothing makes Kelly happier than putting words on a page, while conceiving cutting edge public relations and content marketing strategies for the people, moving organizations big and small towards becoming the brilliant masters of their online domain, and connecting western Canada's top writers and creatives with the brands and businesses who need them most.

In this episode of Breaking Digital - Digital influencer, Kelly Doody goes into some extreme detail as to how you can improve your overall social media platform for your business,  to attract and retain your audience, to make a strong, profitable business opportunity. It's about thinking how to do it easier. It's not easy, but with some of the key content principles that Kelly outlines, you can get to the bottom of creating a remarkable stories with social media.

Daniel is an Intellectual property and commercialisation expert,  working with inventors and R&D teams, who are struggling to get traction in their projects.

Many entrepreneurs and businesses have brilliant ideas, but are not able to actually create significant profits, as they typically don't know exactly what to do.

In the IP and Commercialisation industry, many innovators need to overcome what Daniel has identified as the 6 major roadblocks in the commercialisation process. Most IP projects that don't overcome these 6, usually meet with failure, or "lack of significant opportunity", and are put back on the shelf.

Using a methodology that has undergone more than 20 years of research and a state-of-the-art assessment instrument, I work with these clients to identify where they excel or breakdown in the innovation process.

Daniel has spent 30 years in the commercialisation of intellectual property and has worked with innovation teams across Asia, America and Australia. He is a published author (his latest hard-cover book is available at www.billion-dollar-napkin.com) and he is Consultant Principal of the on-line coaching and mentoring group Incubate-IP. Daniel is a member of the UN Task Force on Innovation and Competitiveness and has created a 6-week on-line training course for Innovators who have great ideas which have stalled in the commercialisation process. He has been invited to the Board of the International Federation of Inventors Associations and is active in the International GroupSkyQuest, which is a global network for IP trading. Daniel can be contacted on daniel@incub8IP.com

In this episode of Breaking Digital - Digital influencer, Daniel O'Connor goes into some extreme detail as to how you can improve your overall intellectual property platform for your business,  to attract and retain investment to make a strong, profitable business case. It's about thinking how to do it easier. It's not easy, but with some of the key content principles that Daniel outlines, you can get to the bottom of creating a remarkable innovation.

Daniel Mumby is about connecting innovation with entrepreneurship, with a focus on getting capital for smart businesses and even smarter entrepreneurs.

Known to his friends & peers as 'That Startup Guy', Daniel is the co-founder of Startup Foundation - the startup accelerator for professionals. During 20 years in corporate life (building, logistics & software), including building a large successful venture as an 'intrapreneur', he caught the startup 'bug'. He's since designed & created 15 ventures across broadband, ecommerce, hospitality, social networking, logistics, financial services and not-for-profit sectors.

Daniel now invests his time & expertise as a "Venture Catalyst" across the startup ecosystem by helping other founders to succeed, as an investor, mentor, adviser, author, presenter, speaker, media producer, blogger and creator of a venture accelerator.

Most 'great ideas' could become successful businesses, if you find the right support, at the right time. Daniel believes that the best ideas come from people with deep domain & life experience and connections, who've circled around the problems of their profession for many years. They know how to 'get stuff done', & probably had to overcome a few 'life challenges', so you don't need to 'teach' them resilience; these attributes together are the hallmarks of great entrepreneurs.

But, they’ve often got risks that hold them back from starting on the path to success. Daniel supports them throughout their journey of purpose, from “idea to launch”, by mentoring, advising, presenting, and writing about the challenges of 'disruptive innovation'.

Digital influencer, Daniel Mumby goes into some extreme detail as to how you can improve your digital innovation and implementation,  to attract and retain your audience. It's about thinking how to do it easier. It's not easy, but with some of the key content principles that Daniel outlines, you can get to the bottom of creating a remarkable business online.

Digital disruption is not always an easy thing, but then again, neither is evolution. It seems as though we've actually built a counter digital culture, which sees some Darwinian principles take hold. Are we seeing digital evolution at work? Some things work better, while others get passed over?

John Lynch is the digital agency influencer creating disruption, and looking inside the changing Darwinian digital culture of business online.

John Lynch takes us on a digital leadership journey through the lens of an agency, that sees pretty much everything out there - good bad and ugly; what's stopping, what's starting, and what's coming.

Within one of the largest agencies in the world, headquartered in NYC - TBWA - Chiat - Day, John Lynch takes us through the digital adventures and journeys that he is seeing on a daily basis, which is making things better... and seemingly worse at times.

Take a listen to what John Lynch has to say about everything digital, and making things happen in the digital leadership space.

Online business, for most people, is not fun anymore. We take it far to seriously, and yes, we even take ourselves way to seriously. 'We've lost the edge', as Goose would always say. Maybe we should all just go back to truck driving school.

Matt Giovanisci is tired of the old dogs of online, and is bringing sunshine, rainbows and even unicorns to online. Not in a magical, mystical kind of way, but in a rather, 'let's have some fun while we get some real sh*t done'.

And, he's doing it in spades. He's run multiple online business campaigns that have really shaken the marketing communities to their core, and had a laugh at himself, and the satire of others. No, it's not about making fun of others, but rather making fun with them.

You'll find some gems of implementation in this podcast episode, in online marketing, as well as how to have a great time doing it.

Matt Giovanisci is putting the fun back into online 'fun' marketing.
